We are a gospel centred community, seeking to extend the glory of God by making disciples through the gospel of Jesus Christ for the renewal of East Johannesburg.
Our Values
Gospel Centred - A community centred and saturated around the truth of the birth, life, death, resurrection, ascension and return of Jesus Christ, affirming Him as Lord and Saviour.
Disciple Making - A community that believes that as the gospel transforms the individual life on a person, we want to see a multiplying effect of that in the lives of others and we believe that happens best in the making of disciples.
Transcultural Community - A view of community that reflects, embraces and enjoys the diversity of its context, and by the power fo the gospel, transcends it and creates one new community in Christ.
Our Rhythms of Life
Our rhythm of life together follows the pattern of Worship, Formation, Community and Mission.
Worship - Worship is at the heart of discipleship. It is essentially a counter-formation to those rival cultural-stories we are often immersed in. It is also the rational for creation and the goal of redemption. We believe that a day is coming when our present fallen world will be engulfed by the new creation, where shalom will abound, and where all things will be to the praise of God’s glory.
Formation - Formation occurs as people are transformed by the gospel. It begins as we first believe and continues throughout our life of faith as we seek to love God with heart, soul, mind & strength as well as our neighbors as ourselves. Spiritual formation takes place in community where God is present and active through Scripture, prayer, sacraments, and fellowship.
Community - While real Christianity is deeply personal, it is never individual. Jesus makes us family. Our formation as individuals and our formation as a people of God are deeply interwoven. Who we are is, in a large extent, who we are together. We strongly believe that a healthy church is to be hospitable home where everyone can be seen, known and loved in genuine community.
Mission - Mission is the story of Scripture in which God is at work to renew the world. This story culminates in Jesus Christ, who was lovingly sent by God the Father to seek and to save the lost. When the Holy Spirit produces depth and renewal in our souls, it isn’t for our own sake alone. We exist not for ourselves but for Christ and his glory in this world.
