Sunday
Gatherings.
Sunday services are the primary way that we gather together as a church. During these gatherings we sing, read scripture, listen to teaching, spend time in prayer, and take part in communion together.
Time: 10am.
Location: Stoneridge Centre, Hereford Road, Greenstone Hill, Johannesburg.
Current Series:
The Word of God.
The Scriptures are still the primary text for Christian spirituality. Christian spirituality is, in its entirety, rooted in and shaped by the scriptural text. We are formed by the Holy Spirit in accordance with the text of Holy Scripture. God does not put us in charge of forming our personal spiritualities. We grow in accordance with the revealed Word implanted in us by the Spirit.
This sermon series seeks to build our confidence in the reliability and authority of God’s Word. What would our lives look like if we were confident that God’s Word has transformative power.
We are all being formed by something. The scripture is a library of writings both divine and human, that tell a unified story, leading us to Jesus. But are the words in this strange, ancient book still relevant? Do they still mean anything to us today? To Jesus, the Bible is trustworthy. To Jesus, the Bible has authority. The scriptures were designed to be read for formation. To shape us into the image of Jesus. In this book, we find life. In this book, we find a new way to be human.
